Heart to the party, conscience at duty; this double psychological and moral posture embodies the personnel of our Defence and Security Forces, who are working to fine-tune final preparations for the National Day celebration - these same personnel who, more than ever before, ensure the security of Cameroon and its citizenry.
As the contours of the May 20 grand parade become clearer, rehearsals will gain steam, each soldier summoned to the occasion now having to instinctively know his place in the static or dynamic ensembles, nature, sequence and timing of the gestures and movements to be performed.
The ever-rising moralethus reflects the eagerness of servicemen to renew their enthusiasm for unity, in order to warm and further strengthen their ties with the people. This also explains theeagerness to lead themarch past procession in all their glory and splendour, to reiterate the allegiance of loyalty and fidelity that they owe to the Nation and its illustrious leader.
Throughout the national territory, the enthusiasm for the celebrations marking the Unitary State is such that each town wishes to have its own military parade. Also, any soldier of the Republic, wherever he finds himself, will feel the weight of the curious, admiring, but also serious and inquisitive gaze of an attentive, grateful and at the same time demanding people weighing on his shoulders.
In the meantime, increased and sustained vigilance will be given to the security of our borders, national territory, people and property.
