Cameroon - RMIA4 : MINDEF CHAIRED SECURITY MEETING, PAID VISIT TO MILITARY HOSPITAL

After the representing the Head Of State And Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces at the official funeral ceremony of former Vice-Prime Minister, Amadou Ali, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph made a stopover at the command post of the 4th Joint Military Region in Maroua for a security evaluation mission and a visit to the 4th Joint Military Hospital on October 4, 2022.

During the security meeting, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph underscored that the security meeting is coming on the heels of his security tour to Mokolo, Mayo Tsanaga Division, Far-North Region in the month of June to address the grievances of the populace over Boko Haram’s atrocities. Today, Minister Beti Assomo Joseph confirms that the threat has drastically reduce due to the efforts put in place by the defence and security forces on the instructions given. He also recognized the exertion of commanders who applied the instruction given during the just ended security held in Yaounde prior to the 2022/2023 academic year.

The Minister did not go by without acknowledging the contribution put in by the population through intelligence gathering, and the abnegation of vigilante committees whose determination and keenness can’t be forgotten in a hurry as the threats perpetrated by the sect is hardly felt.

Away from the security meeting, Beti Assomo Joseph paid a working visit to the 4 Joint Military Hospital on a guided tour by Colonel Dr, Fouda Bekolo, Head of the hospital who presented some wounded soldiers from the skirmishes of the barbaric activities of the Boko Haram sect. The Head of the hospital confirmed that the number of wounded soldiers received in the hospital has drastically reduce, settling the steadfastness of the defence and security forces in the Far-North Region for the protection of persons and the territorial integrity.

In the course of the working visit, the Minister made a stop at the ongoing construction site of the 4th Joint Military Hospital Mortuary. Dr Colonel Fouda Bekolo held that, upon completion of the mortuary, it will capacitate more than 50 corpses, the biggest in the Far-North Region. He seized the opportunity to highlight that, the hospital is open not only for military personnel but as well as the population of the Far-North Region and its environ which fall in line with the concept of the Army and the Nation.

The two days visit by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of Defence to the Far-North Region, comes as a booster to the defence and security forces as well as the local population in the fight against the all forms of threats most especially the isolated attacks of the Boko Haram sect.
