Honor and Loyalty : 20 May 2022: an irresistible wind of unity

In sound, rhythm and frenzy, the numerouscolours of the sociological, ideological and professional vibrancy of Cameroon have swept across the national territory, in an irresistible wind of unitythathascompletelyblown away the remnants of divisionist inclinations.

Here we are, fifty years after the courageous and irreversible decision of a generation of patriots to put an end to the endless pain of a rift that was not only geographical.

Having become a legacy for future generations, the memory of the visionary act of our venerated predecessors now burns in the hearts of the sons and daughters of Cameroon like a purifying flame which, while consuming the impurities, refines the delicate matter, but very much alive, strengthens each day the awareness of our common belonging to the Cradle of our Fathers, Cameroon.

Bearing the nationalflag with the star as a shining symbol of faith and unity, the Cameroonian people celebrated, escorted in the air, on land and also on the seas, by courageous defence and security forces.

Dressed in their customary fashion and armed with organic equipment, gendarmes, infantrymen, airmen, seamen, firefighters, police officers, customs officers and prison guards marched alongside the Nation, in a beautiful unison of gestures and spirit.

Wearinga common uniform, moving with a common step towards a commongoal, the various components of our Army became one, like the Nationthat has managed to make ofits cultural diversity, the Cameroon tribe, one and indivisible, just like its territory.

The Cameroonian Nation and its Army are two inextricably linked entities that know, recognise, complement and hold each other in high, rational and passionate esteem.

The fact remains that on its fiftieth anniversary, national unity which appears more glaring and solidenables the Nation and its Army to better devote themselves together, torealisingprojects geared towards transforming Cameroon into an emerging nation, with the sole aim of making the Garden that our Forefathers cultivated flourish!
